Meet Elaine Denton: A Local Leader Who Listens
-July 30th 2025
If you haven’t heard of Elaine Denton yet, now is the perfect time to get to know her.
Elaine is running for Onondaga County Legislature in the 10th District of Onondaga County. District 10 covers the a large portion of the Town of Manlius outside of the village of Manlius, (thanks gerrymandering.) Here’s a map of the district if you’re interested.
She’s exactly the kind of grounded, community focused leader our county needs. Elaine is a former town councilor, a parent, and an advocate. Elaine understands the real issues families are facing, because she’s lived them.
She’s running on a platform that puts people first: fighting for affordable childcare, protecting reproductive freedom, supporting public schools, and investing in communities that are too often left behind in county-level decision making.
Elaine is amongst the principled, informed and engaged minds in our region. She’s a neighbor, a mom, and someone who believes local government should work for all of us, not just the ones “in the know.”
Elaine and I are both active members of the CNY Solidarity Coalition’s State and Local Action Team. Elaine co-chair’s the group which focuses on state and local issues that align with the CNY Solidarity mission statement: fair taxation, environment, health, transportation, education, jobs, racial and economic justice.
I am enthusiastically endorsing Elaine Denton to be the next County Legislator for the 10th district. I know she’s going to do her homework, vote based on the data, and what’s best for the community.
