My name is Maurice Brown. I'm a veteran, an activist, and I’m the county legislator for the 15th District here in Onondaga County.
A Progressive Vision for Syracuse
Syracuse residents deserve an efficient public transportation system. Our renters deserve a housing market where “affordable housing” is truly affordable instead of just a buzzword. Our residents deserve access to support services that are comprehensive and address their needs in crisis.
We can have these things, and so much more if we work together. We need leaders in county government who will prioritize our health and well-being over building an 85 million dollar aquarium.
Right now, our county cannot afford baby steps. We can do better, and we will.
Our county is worth saving and our community is worth fighting for. The only way we can do it is together.

Transportation
Our current public transit system is currently underfunded, insufficient, and well behind our peer regions. If we want to continue growing, we’ll need to think bigger. If we’re to reach our potential, we need to rethink how we do transportation.
Quality Affordable Housing
We must prioritize access to Affordable Housing, fight for stronger tenant protections, bring an end to unjust evictions, and fight to end homelessness in our community.
Public Health
As we rebuild from a global pandemic, we need to take care of our greatest resource, our people. County residents deserve the needed investment into our Social Services and Health Departments to make sure they are adequately staffed and can support a healthy community.
